The course enrolment period is how long a person has access to their online course, which is 6 months. Once a person is logged in the Enrolment Expiry date is visible in the top right corner of any page in the safe ministry courses. The course enrolment period does not affect when a person’s training expires, only when their access to their online course expires. Once a person’s enrolment period concludes, they will no longer have access to their online course and all course progress is removed from the system and is not retrievable. If they have not completed all the components of their online course before their enrolment period expires, they will need to re-enrol and start their training again. Note: if it has been more than 3yrs since they completed safe ministry training, they will now be required to complete the Essentials course.

The training expiry date is when a person’s safe ministry accreditation is no longer valid. This is 3 years from the last date they attended training. Safe Ministry Reps are required to maintain records of this information and will be able to assist anyone in their church about their training expiry date, if required. In accordance with the Safe Ministry to Children Ordinance 2020, safe ministry training must be completed prior to a person’s training expiry date (a person’s course enrolment period does not affect this).

For more information about training expiry see this article.
